The fourth industrial revolution with the automation of
technology has produced a new phase of globalization or dubbed as globalization
4.0. Globalization generally viewed as a period of integration, it means there is
no limit among all of countries around the world. The fourth industrial
revolution and globalization 4.0 have intimately relationship, both of them
together bring cutting-age technology in a whole the world. All of us cannot
belie that the sophisticated technology is inevitable thing which have affected
in human history.
Implication of rapidly developed technology shapes a new
model of society – might be able to be called as digital society. It transforms
human behaviour and surely paradigm as well. In the past, many people finished
their work manually. Nowadays, nearly all of people’s works have been taken
over by technology. For the digital society, the cutting-age technology brings
many benefits because it facilitates what people need. As we know that almost
throughout humankind in the entire world uses technology to meet standard of living
or perhaps to express their personal interest. The wave of technological
revolution has delivered humankind into the age of digitalization, with some of
consequences both positive and negative effects.
We cannot count how much the digital revolution, both
smartphone and computer or all of technological devices like the internet of
thing, artificial intelligent (AI) and more have changed human life. It is believed
that will bring advances of the age but in the other side it also can disrupt
certain condition. In some cases, social media like facebook and twitter are
used to deploy fake news and spread misinformation to aim chaos accident. In the
United State, for instance, hoax news had been shared when the presidential
election and it caused changing the result of polling. On the other hand, it
also grants many benefit. Thymian Bussemer gives one example of positive impact from it, he argues
that digital applications also help us
to manage increasing traffic volume and the consequences of the demographic
transition. Furthermore, they enable us to reduce costs while raising the
quality of products and services[1].
It is clearly that digital transformation has two effects, it relies on for
what the technology used.
However, I personally believe that the digital revolution
truly provides the positive impact in society and country when they can
maximize it. The strike of digital transformation should not be ignored or
repressed because many benefits that we are able to brings like economic
growth, poverty alleviation and improve education. Particular areas in China,
for instance, had been experienced poverty energy, but China can solve it
because of maximization of technology. One important thing might be needed to
be noted that we need to control the cutting-age technology, thus we will not
be in its hegemony.
